O Último Cine Drive-in

Synopsis

Young Marlombrando (Breno Nina) is forced to return to Brasília, his hometown, when his mother, Fátima (Rita Assemany), falls ill. There, he reunites with his estranged father, Almeida (Othon Bastos), who has owned the Cine Drive-in for 37 years. Almeida is determined to keep the theater alive, even though it no longer attracts audiences like it did in the 1970s. He runs it with the help of just two employees: Paula (Fernanda Rocha), who handles the projection and the snack bar; and José (Chico Sant'anna), an old friend of Almeida’s who sells tickets and takes care of the theater’s maintenance. As the Cine Drive-in faces the threat of demolition and Fátima’s illness worsens, father and son must come together and try to bring the past back to life.
