Synopsis

Justino: Behind the Scenes of the Kingdom is set in the early 1980s, in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, and follows the life of Mário Justino. When a powerful Neo-Pentecostal church seems to offer the perfect path to a better life and an escape from poverty, Justino decides to become a pastor there. He quickly becomes a local icon, but his rise goes beyond ambition, bringing with it secrets, repressed desires, and betrayals. About fifteen years later, he decides to return to his past. Seeking answers to understand the choices that shaped his destiny, Justino will do whatever it takes to settle the score before it’s too late.
