Lino Meireles

Lino Meireles has directed films since 2015, when he debuted with the short Passeio, a drama about a fifteen year old boy in search of maturity, produced by Marcus Ligocki. In 2020 he directed his first feature, the documentary Candango, Memories of the Festival, which gathers over fifty testimonies from filmmakers, actors and journalists to tell the story of the Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema since 1965. The film was part of the Cinemateca Brasileira's My First Feature showcase, became a book and gave rise to FBCBusca, the country's first digital encyclopedia dedicated to a film festival. His directing work runs alongside an ongoing interest in preserving Brazilian film memory, including the 4K restoration of Glauber Rocha's Black God, White Devil, alongside Paloma Rocha.
