Bruno Bini

Bruno Bini has directed films since 2001, when he debuted with the short Based on True Events. He followed with the shorts Compromising the Performance, in 2006, and After the Fall, in 2011, until in 2016 he directed Three Types of Fear, the starting point of his best known work. In 2020 he directed his first feature, the science fiction thriller Loop, and in 2022 the shorts The Ides of November and Thunder Without Rain. In 2025 he directed Five Types of Fear, the first fiction feature from Mato Grosso selected for the main competition at the Gramado Film Festival, where it won four Kikitos, including Best Film. The film also screened at festivals in Paris, Barcelona, Chicago and Havana and is among the contenders to represent Brazil for the Best International Feature Oscar. His cinema weaves mosaic narratives set on the outskirts of Cuiabá, joining the crime genre with a portrait of his region's social inequalities.
